最后，在一次好不容易逃脱火龙战团的追杀之后，拜尔总算在恐惧之眼里面一处地方安定了下来，他与几乎所有的混沌军团达成协议，帮助他们创造出新的混沌士兵，以此换来保护。

The origins, and original name, of The Emperor are not known. Sages and wise men all over the world had recently noticed that they had lost the ability to reincarnate: Newly manifested turmoil in the warp scattered and consumed their souls rather than bringing them into new bodies. A great council was gathered to decide what must be done. Presumably, thousands were there, and after many years of debate, they came to the conclusion that they had only two or three generations left before all their souls were consumed. Realizing their peril, they decided as one to commit mass-suicide. After their deaths, their souls are said to have merged into one and brought the Emperor into physical being.

The Emperor is said to have been born in central Anatolia. He grew up within an isolated and meager territory, and it was rumored that he has the power to stop his own aging and numerous other psychic abilities. His psychic abilities extend directly from his own presence in the Warp, dubbed "The Starchild". After the events that ended the Dark Age of Technology the Emperor realized he had to take more direct control of the fate of Humanity. Some say he realized the danger lingering just outside the warp storms that surrounded Holy Terra, and so he revealed himself to the techno-barbarians that ruled Terra, rallying them under his flag. Over the years he collected even more advanced wisdom and is known as the facilitator of most of the important inventions of mankind. The Adeptus Mechanicus worship him as the greatest creator of all time outclassing every techpriest and Fabricator-General in sheer amount of knowledge and comprehension. He is considered to be the most powerful psyker in the galaxy and his warp presence is rumored to rival the four powers of Chaos.

The first mention of him in Imperial records is when he conquered Terra after the Age of Strife (sometime in the 29th Millennium). The Emperor's use of genetically engineered warriors enabled him to reunite the people of Earth, and to set his sight on the stars. With the assistance of the Adeptus Mechanicus on Mars the Emperor created the first Space Marines and fleets of interstellar ships to carry his new and powerful armies to the farthest reaches of the Galaxy. The Emperor also created the Primarchs from whom the Space Marines' gene-seed was developed, although the Chaos gods scattered them across the Galaxy. During the Great Crusade all but two of the lost Primarchs were found and reunited with their respective Legion of Space Marines.

But in the final stages of the Great Crusade the Emperor's most trusted son, Horus succumbed to Chaos and turned on his father. Having corrupted fully half of the Space Marine Legions, Horus led them against the Emperor and plunged the fledgling galactic Empire into a colossal civil war. This conflict became the most terrible in human history, and billions perished as the traitors legions tore apart the Empire they had helped to forge.

The last act of this terrible treachery was played out above Terra, as the Emperor led a desperate teleport assault against Horus' flagship. Though the Emperor was a being of unfathomable psychic and physical might, Horus had become mighty indeed, bloated with the powers of all four Chaos gods. The Emperor finally slew his favored son, though the deed left him close to death, and in this state Rogal Dorn found him and returned him to Terra. Here, the rapidly ailing Emperor of Mankind dictated plans for the arcane life support machine that would sustain his remaining cells for over ten thousand years.

Once entombed upon the Golden Throne, the Emperor was able to communicate in speech for some time. However, over the millenia he has lapsed into complete silence. Physically, the Emperor of Mankind is little more than a withered corpse. The last surviving cells in his shattered body anchor his infinitely powerful spirit. Were the Emperor's body to completely die, his spirit would be cast adrift in the Warp, dispersed and weakened until it enters a new host.

There is a rumour however, that the Emperor could have left the Golden Throne after his first year on the Golden Throne. However, the Twelve High Lords of Terra feared a second Heresy and kept the Emperor on the Golden Throne.

The Emperor is not a mere beacon for space travel, however, but is said to continue to influence the fate of mankind through dreams and visions given to selected individuals. It is also generally thought that he created the Warp storm known as the Storm of the Emperor's Wrath during the Age of Apostasy.
